Ummm is my name really SIDRA? :P

My blog doesn't indicate anywhere that the name my parents chose for their cuddly baby twenty years ago was actually Sidra. You see time and again my name has been subjected to change, people have their own definition of who I am and out of love (and several times out of spite) my name has been twisted, and completely changed into something amusing or extremely disturbing..

My father, yes yes the very same man who gave me my original name, has the distinction of being the first person to call me by a different name. As cliché as it may be since I am his youngest child, he refers to me as choti, and unfortunately he reserves the use of my original name only when he is very very unhappy with me. At one point in time a rather weirdly elated Mr. Modan congratulated me on becoming Head Girl by calling me headless bottom girl. I shall for the sanity of my readers, and for my the sake of my reputation avoid mentioning any other distortion that he has used to refer to me.. :p

My mother has been a kind woman, she respects the name that she gave me, but occasionally likes to turn it into a high pitched sid and raw. I like to believe that that this serves as her way of showing love even thought it sounds disturbing. My sister, Nida, is the person who has given me an identity in the form of Agent Modan. Before this rather classy nickname I was also called (she claims affectionately) goobles, & poopsiee..

My friends I have to come to believe don't really like the name Sidra, like my father they'll probably use it to show disgust, give me cold treatment or to scream at me. I am referred to as DQ, Dodo, Sidraay, Gulabo, Gulliee, Gul, Taliban Modan, Samy, Sam, Sidpid and Popsicles..

So you see its actually quite easy for me to forget that my real name, is actually Sidra Azam Modan.. :p

Feel free to choose any from over here to refer to me! Infact let's here some new ways to distort my name, shall we?
